Animals in Winter
Hibernation, Migration, & Adaptation
Our words of the week this week are: HIBERNATION and MIGRATION.
We also talked about ADAPTATION. We discussed how some animals hibernate through winter, some migrate, and some adapt to the wintery conditions.
The favorite center these two weeks was the BEAR CAVE! The kids pretended they were a bear, gathered leaves and made their own, comfy bed. They had a ball!
In Centers, the children also experimented with static electricity, magnets, (fake) snow, and determined which animals do well in snow and which animals do not.
